ABOUT CHOC EN BOUCHE
From an apartment kitchen to an artisanal pastry house
Choc en Bouche was founded in October 2016 by Karim Maalouf and Raya Anid Maalouf, a husband-and-wife team who transformed a shared passion for pastry into a family business.
The story began in the kitchen of their apartment in Lebanon. At first, Choc en Bouche made only one product: macarons. Karim and Raya devoted themselves to refining them, continuously working on texture, flavor, consistency and presentation.
A trip to Paris for a short pastry training experience at Le Cordon Bleu marked an important step in that journey. In April 2018, Choc en Bouche's macarons were selected as award winners in the Easter Desserts Competition, helping introduce the young brand to a wider Lebanese audience.
What began at home gradually developed into the Choc en Bouche of today, operating from a 1,200 m² standalone villa on the main road of Cornet Chahwan, Lebanon.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Choc en Bouche is built around three principles:
Taste comes first, but presentation is never treated as secondary. Every creation is approached with the belief that flavor, texture, craftsmanship and aesthetics must work together.
The objective is not simply to reproduce the same products repeatedly, but to continually refine them and adapt creations to the people and occasions for which they are made.
CRAFTED BY HAND
Craftsmanship is at the heart of Choc en Bouche.
Our chocolates, desserts and cakes are handmade using carefully selected ingredients and with meticulous attention to detail. Our approach to pastry is deeply personal and often bespoke: we listen to our clients, understand their occasion and theme, and create an experience around it.
From intimate family celebrations to weddings, religious occasions, corporate events and Lebanon's many seasonal traditions, our work reflects the diversity of the people and celebrations we serve.
We make no compromise between taste and aesthetics. Both are fundamental to what Choc en Bouche represents.
ROOTED IN LEBANON
Choc en Bouche was born and developed in Lebanon.
For Karim and Raya, building the business here was a natural extension of their lives, careers and family. What started as a hobby grew through the encouragement of friends and family into an entrepreneurial project firmly rooted in the country.
Lebanon's diversity of traditions, occasions and celebrations continues to shape the way Choc en Bouche creates today.
RECOGNITION
In April 2018, Choc en Bouche's macarons were selected as award winners in the Easter Desserts Competition, with KitchenAid Lebanon and Vresso Foodservice referenced in the original announcement.
The recognition came less than two years after the creation of Choc en Bouche and helped bring the brand to the attention of a wider Lebanese audience.
